Matrix Category 6
For the most demanding of network infrastructure applications, the category 6 standard introduces more stringent specifications for conditions for crosstalk and system noise.
The category 6 standard increases transmission perfomance due to running at a bandwidth of 250Mhz as opposed to the category 5e standard that runs traditionally at 100Mhz. The threshold for components to pass category 6 standards are much tighter in comparison to category 5e standards therefore resulting in a reduction in attenuation, NEXT (Near End Crosstalk) & PSNEXT (Power Sum NEXT)
The next evolution from category 6 is the category 6a standard defined in ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-B.2-10. Data transmission operates at 500Mhz (twice that of cat6). Augmented category 6 cable is capable of support 10GBASE-T upto a maximum distance of 100m.
